Ajaigarh fort and its remains

Description

Ajaygarhfort is located on lofty flat topped spur of the Vindhyan hill. This fort is one of the mightiest fort of the region. Originally it had five gates, but now it has two gates. The fort has a long trail of fortification and a series of bastions. This fort has two temples inside, there are various ruined temple members located which gives the evidence of more temples. Near the northern gate of this fort there are two rock-cut tanks, known as Ganga and Yamuna are located. Close to it is a ruined Chandella temple is located which is attributed to Raja Parmardi deva. Three ruined Jain temples built in Khajuraho style have been traced here. on the foothill of this fort there are various palaces are located.
